The Department of Biology offers the following Bachelor Programs:
Biochemistry blends theoretical and laboratory courses in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, microbiology, and more. This program provides a foundation for careers in clinics, research, or biotechnology, and often is favored by students planning to attend medical school and/or pursuing a Ph.D.
Bioinformatics blends courses in biology, chemistry, and physics with programming, statistics, and other methods, producing graduates with strong computational and scientific skills. Two tracks include Applied Bioinformatics, with more courses in computer science, and Computational Biology, with more courses in biology.
Acquire critical skills for positions in industrial, medical, or other research laboratories, and the academic background to succeed in biotechnology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, and molecular biology graduate programs. Obtain hands-on experience through laboratory courses, independent studies, and/or research.
Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics (B.S.)
With its interdisciplinary nature and research-driven focus, molecular biochemistry and biophysics is a great way to prepare for careers in research, biomedical industry, and medicine.
