Accounting and Finance 1 year
The Master’s in Accounting and Finance is a one year, full-time program, preparing you for a career in financial or professional services. Accounting, corporate finance and management control are closely related parts of the broader accounting and finance field. They all lie at the intersection where business strategy, processes and information combine and represent critical functions in organizations to ensure that decisions, processes, and behaviors are consistent with corporate objectives and that strategies are related to performance. The program is highly applied, requiring a significant amount of independent study and preparation is required for being successful as a student. We make intensive use of challenging, team-based assignments and cases that focus attention on business and the role of corporate finance and management accounting in a strategic management setting. The program will deepen your analytical thinking and your problem-solving skills, as well as enhance your teamwork skills and your practical corporate finance or management accounting and performance management skills. And you will study together with students from all over the world.
Economic Development and Growth 2 years
The Master’s in Economic Development and Growth trains the next generation of analysts, researchers and professionals in the field of development and growth. The program combines the expertise of three highly ranked European universities into a common platform with leading scholars in economics, economic history and demography. In this double degree program you spend the first year studying development and international economics, statistics and long run development at either Universidad Carlos III de Madrid or University of Groningen. Conditional on successful completion of the first year, you spend the second year at Lund University specializing in development and growth, related to issues such as comprehensiveness and equality, sustainability and energy, innovation and human capital. Becoming a trained expert in the field of development requires a wide variety of skills. You will need the necessary theoretical and quantitative tools to grasp major debates in economics and other social sciences. At the same time, the complexity of development problems demands deep, specialized understanding of context, institutions, and historical legacies in developing economies.
You will also obtain the advanced skills required to carry out research in the fields of development economics, economic history, applied economics and international economics. Economic Growth, Population and Development 2 Years
This program aims to explore the general history of production and distribution, population and living standards, institutions and social organization. The program offers knowledge to carry out investigations and analyses concerning changes of social and economic conditions under different circumstances.
Career prospects
Graduates of this program will be equipped with the methods and analytical skills to pursue a broad range of careers in both public and private sector, within government agencies, national bureaus and administrations, think tanks and research organizations, analyst firms and multinational companies.
Given the wide scope of the program and its interdisciplinary nature, graduates can expect employment opportunities within a multitude of areas, depending on the selected track.
Many graduates from the Economic History track choose to work at national or international organizations in positions requiring analytical skills. Recent graduates work at the European Centre for International Political Economy (ECIPE), the German parliament, the UN, HSBC, Hong Kong Banking Services, and Nordea.
Economics 2 Years
The Master’s program in Economics (Nationalekonomi) brings you the quantitative skills and analytical mindset that are essential for a successful career in governmental organizations, international institutions, and private sector firms such as banks and economic consultancies. The program provides you with deep and thorough knowledge of modern economic theories, concepts, techniques, and their applications. You will acquire the necessary skills to undertake advanced economic analysis and become familiar with state-of-the-art research. The rigorous and research-based education will enable you to undertake advanced economic analysis by applying modern economic theory and state-of-the-art tools for handling data and conducting econometric analysis (using, for example, STATA and MATLAB).
Entrepreneurship and Innovation 1 Year

European and International Trade and Tax Law 1 year
The Master’s in European and International Trade and Tax Law builds on previous studies in law, management and/or economics. The program provides an in-depth understanding of both the practical and theoretical aspects of trade and tax law within the EU as well as globally. Important law- and policymakers in these fields are, among others, the European union (EU), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the World Trade Organization (WTO). International trade evolves rapidly. Those interested in doing business within the EU and globally must know the rules governing their business-operations. Finance 1 year
