The Department of Business Management offers the following Bachelor Programs:
Business Management BA (HONS) – TOP-UP 1 Year
This one year top-up course, derived from the three year BA (Hons) Business Administration degree is ideal if you have successfully completed a Business Administration course which is equivalent to the first two years of a relevant UK honors degree, for example, an HND, Foundation Degree or equivalent overseas diploma. The flexibility of this course enables you to strengthen your area of specialization, or extend the breadth of your knowledge in the main business functions.
Business and Management BA (HONS)
This degree course has a distinct emphasis on practical learning and you’ll develop core business skills in key areas such as problem solving, decision making, team working and communications. You are encouraged to put theory into practice and will have the option of undertaking a one year paid placement, as well as short-term internships. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in some consultancy practice ensuring you have the awareness and skills to succeed in the changing world of business.
Business and Marketing BA (HONS)
This is the perfect program if your ambition is to be a business decision-maker or work in a marketing or advertising career. For students interested in business enterprise, there are also opportunities to create your own business. The global economy is rapidly evolving and marketing is at the heart of every business. Get under the skin of business with a broad base in analysis, planning, economics and management whilst also learning specialist marketing skills such as creative problem-solving, digital, understanding customers and how to differentiate a business from its competitors.
Business Management AND Chinese BA (HONS) 4 Years
A unique and innovative course that combines the study of business with Chinese language and culture. This degree incorporates practical elements, providing students with the opportunity to study and undertake work experience with an international company in China. By studying this course our students are in the privileged position of having a guaranteed overseas internship.
Business Management by ELearning BA (HONS) – TOP-UP 1 year
This 16-month part-time top-up program has a distinct emphasis on practical learning and is delivered entirely online. You’ll develop core business skills in key areas such as problem solving, decision making, team working and communications and will be encouraged to put theory into practice. It is an ideal course if you have completed a Foundation Degree or HND (or an equivalent international program of study) in a business related discipline, allowing you to progress to honors degree level.
Human Resource Management BA (HONS)
The course is accredited by the professional body of HR professionals, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). On successful completion of the course students will gain Associate Membership of the CIPD and provide the foundation for a career and academic development at postgraduate level. UCLan has been delivering professionally accredited programs in HRM for many years.
Intercultural Business Communication (ICBC) BA (HONS)
In this course, students will draw on and further develop their knowledge, experience and motivation to improve their professional communication and intercultural skills and to learn more about international business and management. This course offers a unique chance to study in a truly international environment in the School of Humanities, Language and Global Studies and will give graduates a solid advantage for going onto a relevant postgraduate study course or getting that first international job.
International Business (YEAR 3 ENTRY) BA (HONS) 1 year
Go global and prepare yourself for a career in international business through this specialist degree which combines the theoretical tools and analytical skills required by successful international businesses with a global perspective. Direct entry into Year 3 of this program is ideal if you already have a Foundation Degree, HND, DipHE or equivalent in a related subject area, enabling you to complete an Honours degree in one year. You’ll build on your previous study of business and management whilst developing the key intellectual and vocational skills that will enable you to succeed in a global business environment.
International Business Communication (IBC) BA (HONS)
This course offers students the chance to study in a truly international environment. They will develop a high degree of competence in English language and communication skills, understanding the role of the international manager and the skills required to manage successfully in international and intercultural contexts. Our students have the opportunity to study specialist content modules in a wide range of business topics as well as to develop the necessary project management and research skills, giving them an advantage, whether going on to postgraduate study, or getting that first job.
International Business Communication with a Modern Foreign Language BA (HONS)
Do you want to develop business communication expertise in a truly international environment? The BA (Hons) Marketing course is a fully up-to-date course that allows you to immerse yourself in the very latest thinking and practice within the exciting world of marketing.
