Department of Environment and Sustainability – Master of Science - Hosted By tandek
The Department of Environment and Sustainability offers the following Master Programs:
Environmental Management and Policy 2 years
The International Master’s Program in Environmental Management and Policy (EMP) enables graduates to inspire and drive change by developing their abilities to evaluate, design, and implement management and policy responses to complex environmental challenges. The EMP program revolves around distinguished key features: interdisciplinary learning, its international nature and practically applied studies. The EMP is focused on both environmental policy and environmental management. This is based on our collective experience that decision makers within both these spheres benefit vastly from having such a dual understanding. More and more, we find that many alumni, regardless of their profession or sector, work within both the realms of public policy and corporate management to move the environmental agenda further.

LUMES is an interdisciplinary program focusing on sustainability challenges from a local to a global level through combining both social and natural science perspectives.
Building on students’ previous knowledge and experiences, emphasis is placed on understanding present societal development patterns and the environmental problems they create, as well as approaches for formulating strategies for future sustainable pathways. The program takes an interdisciplinary and holistic approach to sustainability, which provide students with a broad knowledge of the interaction between cultural, economic, environmental, political, and social dimensions of sustainability.

The world is rapidly changing, thus offering new challenges for architecture. These challenges concern everything from densification of cities and sustainability to new technologies and how they affect the way we design and build. Lund University, located in the dynamic Copenhagen–Malmö region, is well known for its competence and knowledge, and offers superb resources for studying these matters in a broader context. The program combines best practice with advanced research, thus educating students to become highly skilled professionals who are competitive at an international level. Teaching contains both theoretical and hands-on projects aiming to find future-focused solutions to real-world issues.
