Classical Studies with Foundation Year (BA) 4 Years
BA Classical Studies with Foundation Year allows you to explore and critically analyse Classical culture, history, archaeology, philosophy and literature. Choosing from a wide range of options, you can study the culture and history of Greek and Roman societies across the Mediterranean and Near East, from the Archaic period to the Roman imperial period and Late Antiquity, and the reception of Classical culture in later periods of history.

Ancient History and Archaeology (BA) 3 Years
Our BA Ancient History and Archaeology allows you to combine and pursue your interests in the history and archaeology of the ancient world. We will equip you to study the Greek and Roman past through both textual and archaeological evidence, from Greek pottery to Roman inscriptions, ancient cities to classical authors. You will acquire critical and analytical skills, utilizing the full range of evidence that survives from the ancient Greek and Roman worlds.
Archaeology (BA) 3 Years

History and International Relations (BA) 3 Years
Our BA History and International Relations meets the rising demand to study the history of the twentieth century alongside international relations. It is a joint degree, offered by our Department of History, Classics and Archaeology and our Department of Politics, so you will be taught by world-class academics across two research-active departments.
Contemporary History and Politics (BA) 3 Years
The BA Contemporary History and Politics is offered jointly by our Department of History, Classics and Archaeology and our Department of Politics, which gives you the opportunity to study current political ideas and events in combination with an understanding of the wider historical context of the modern world.
History and Archaeology (BA) 3 Years
Our BA History and Archaeology will equip you to study the past through both texts and objects. This course teaches you how to use a range of evidence – from prehistoric pottery to Greek sculpture, and Roman coins to medieval manuscripts – to explore the past.
Classics (BA) 3 Years
The Ancient Greek and Roman worlds offer a wealth of fascinating areas of study, including history, literature, archaeology and philosophy. The BA Classics enables you to develop a high level of competence in Ancient Greek and/or Latin, which you can make the main focus of your degree or use to enrich your study of a wide range of complementary option modules across these different Classical disciplines.
