The Department of Physics offers the following Bachelor Programs:
Program Name
Applied Physics (B.S.)
Applied physics combines research in physics with problem-solving knowledge to prepare for a career applying basic scientific principles into designs of equipment. Electronic and electro-mechanical systems in measurements, communications, and data acquisition all rely on principles of applied physics.
Astrophysics (B.S.)
Illinois Tech’s Bachelor of Science in Astrophysics can be easily coupled with physics for a dual degree. This hands-on astrophysics program is enhanced by access to a 130-mm telescope, and provides excellent preparation for graduate study in either physics or astrophysics.
Physics (B.S.)
The undergraduate physics program provides an excellent preparation for graduate study in physics, as well as strong background for success in other professions. Gain experience with experimental techniques, instrumentation, and measurement processes while developing mathematical, computational, and analytical skills.
