The Department of Physics offers the following Bachelor Programs:
Program Name
Applied Physics (M.S.)
The M.S. in applied physics investigates the kind of physics needed in today’s laser, optics, nanotechnology, semiconductor, and other fields. Coursework helps build problem-solving, quantitative, and analytic skills, which impress employers and open career opportunities.
Health Physics (M.A.S.)
For more than 20 years Illinois Tech has graduated leaders in the health physics field. Gain critical skills in radiation safety, control, and containment as well as communications and team leadership to become a highly successful health physics professional.
Physics (M.S.)
Illinois Tech is a major research institution with connections to Argonne National Laboratory, Fermilab, and global physics experiments such as Daya Bay. Research covers particle and accelerator physics, condensed matter physics, superconductivity, and computational biophysics. Faculty expertise includes XAFS and synchrotron.
Radiological Physics (Certificate)
The certificate program is intended to refresh knowledge of specific topics in health physics. The certificate program qualifies for Continuing Education Credit from the American Academy of Health Physics, or preparation for the American Board of Radiology qualifying examination.
