Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology (MSC)
Our MSc Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology brings together some of the world’s leading researchers in the field of cognitive neuroscience and neuropsychology from centers such as the Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development, the Brain and Behavior Lab and the Birkbeck/UCL Centre for Neuroimaging.

Developmental Sciences (MSC)
Our MSc Developmental Sciences is designed to give you an understanding of the role of the child’s environment through the study of the impact of the family, communities and other social networks. You will explore the interaction of biology and social factors in the context of atypical developmental paths, such as those observed in dyslexia, autism and other developmental disorders.

Psychology (MRES)
Our MRes Psychology covers:
- the critical appreciation of existing research and research methods in a chosen research area
- designing, managing and reporting on an extended research project
- Subject-specific IT skills.
Psychological Research Methods (MSC)
The program combines Birkbeck’s strengths in qualitative and quantitative psychological research methods. It provides you with the opportunity to conduct supervised research in a wide range of areas within contemporary psychology, such as psychosocial studies, brain and cognitive development, and computational cognitive neuroscience.
Educational Neuroscience (MA)
The MA is ideal for teachers, educational psychologists and policy-makers who wish to develop an in-depth understanding of contemporary education and neuroscience that can inform their continuing practice.
Cognition and Computation (MA)
Aimed at graduates of either the computational sciences or the psychological sciences, the MA in Cognition and Computation is an ideal foundation for a research career in the cognitive sciences.

Functional Neuroimaging (MRES)
Birkbeck’s Department of Psychological Sciences has an outstanding, world-class research tradition in functional neuroimaging and our MRes Functional Neuroimaging provides in-depth, hands-on research experience in a chosen area of psychologically relevant functional neuroimaging. You will be taught by academic researchers who are conducting their own cutting-edge research within world-renowned research institutes and groups. You will therefore gain exposure to neuroimaging set-ups specifically designed for studying development.
