In addition to a range of long and short courses in fashion and design, the new Firenze school provides an intense programme of studies dedicated to art and encompassing History of Art, Art ‘Management’ and Visual Multimedia Art. The Florentine school is on the one hand characterised by the support of professors who are both professionals and highly specialized technicians in the ‘art of making’, and on the other by collaboration with an important French institution in the field of art teaching, the renowned Atelier de Sèvres (for Art courses). About Program
Become fully qualified in the latest fashion and accessories design techniques and expand your career options. Covering clothing and accessories design, these three-year full-time courses encourage individual style and creativity, while also offering the chance to become multi-skilled fashion designers. Participants begin by studying the language of ready to wear, progressing through all stages of the design process including hand sketching, fashion illustration and digital design, pattern making, pattern cutting and construction, right through to the finished garment or product. Focusing on the womenswear and menswear industries, each course also investigates the intrinsic added values and characteristics of an accessories garment or product, understanding how to design products that create desire. During the course participants are encouraged to experiment with new materials and technologies, negotiating for example the use of a flamboyant pairing of fabrics, renewable and sustainable resources, 3D printing or experimental cutting techniques, as well as evaluating fabric embellishment and details that make the ‘difference’ to a winning collection.
