Istituto Marangoni is the international fashion school par excellence, with four Schools in the most prestigious venues of international fashion. The new School of Art brings together, in one prestigious site, all the disciplines taught by Istituto Marangoni. The school is located in a historical building in via de’ Tornabuoni 17, in the core of the city, just a few steps away from Piazza S.Trinità and the museums of Gucci and Ferragamo. In addition to a range of long and short courses in fashion and design, the new Firenze school provides an intense programme of studies dedicated to art and encompassing History of Art, Art ‘Management’ and Visual Multimedia Art. The Florentine school is on the one hand characterised by the support of professors who are both professionals and highly specialized technicians in the ‘art of making’, and on the other by collaboration with an important French institution in the field of art teaching, the renowned Atelier de Sèvres (for Art courses). This completes the school’s innovative and prestigious profile.
About Program
Istituto Marangoni one-year foundation courses* prepare participants for entry into any of the three-year undergraduate degree programs, or three year courses, in the fashion or design fields. Over the course of the year participants are offered exciting new challenges that will improve their creative thinking, develop their broader fashion, design & art skills, and help them to identify where their true passion lies. Additionally participants will develop a solid introduction into Istituto Marangoni teaching and learning methods and experience the intensive learning approach that is required in order to successfully progress onto one of the full-time fashion or design undergraduate programs. Within each course dedicated pathways provide an overview of key areas of the industry; for example in Fashion participants are introduced to basic notions fashion design, and primary concepts of fashion business, and fashion styling.
